![]() This higher-end wheelbase allows for a rotation up to 1080 degrees (and as little as 270, all adjustable in the base’s PC control panel). When it comes to steering, the GT3 feels ultra-responsive and customizable thanks to the T818 base. And after a period of adjusting, shifting gears eventually felt like second nature. These do feel a little clunky and heavy at first, but they’re certainly not unresponsive. ![]() I was also able to access the team radio and navigate its options via a button press and with navigation from the directional encoder.Ĭhanging gears felt incredibly easy, too, thanks to the large rear paddles that I’d bound to shifting both up and down. I was able to tell the pit crew to get ready for my entry at the push of a button. The on-board action buttons provided a very welcome layer of immersion, too. Then, navigating that long right-hand corner at the end of the lap felt more satisfying than ever, as the wheel registered feedback accurately as I carefully balanced my turning angle. Racing at Monza in F1 23, for example, the wheel shook and provided strong (but not insurmountable) resistance as I slammed the brakes at that tight turn one. By default, I found the wheel to provide immersive, realistic feedback as I rocketed down straights and hit the brakes through tight corners. The only reason for a manual firmware update before the install should be if someone have messed the firmware up on your wheel with an aborted /failed update. One of the highlights of the Thrustmaster Ferrari 488 GT3 racing wheel is its excellent force feedback. Because even of it is some old firmware on your wheel then it IS firmware. I guess if it was some of the idiotic Windows UAC or the other goofy one I cant remember name of which refuses to let the exe run - then there would at least pop a Window message up.ĬatsAreTheWorstDogs: To the best of my knowledge there is a fully manual firmware upd method for Thrustmasters - but as I see it there should be no reason to mess with this before you get the wheel/driver correctly installed. My worthless conclusion: Your real problem is NOT your wheel (functioning/not functioning) - but the reason something make it impossible for the Thrustmaster exe to run. I have been running without ANY anti-virus for 10-20 years - so. I have never heard that as example installed Logitech would get the puter to refuse installing Thrustmaster.Ĭonserning setting any anti-virus to off is no problem. Would be great if you guys could get me started with the new world of sim racing. Is there a way to install the drivers manually without the. Thrustmasters support wrote to me that average time for a response is 15 (!!!!) days right now.Ĭould anybody maybe help me with this problem? The installer just doesn't run on my system i reverted my whole system back to the state of yesterday and tried again. When i tried to install the thrustmaster drivers manually there, it won't let me. When i plug the wheel in (usb) it shows up with the correct name but not as a wheel but as a gamepad. The program just isn't starting/installing. The Windows 10 dialogue popped up if i want the program to run, i clicked yes and. I downloaded the drivers from the website and then double clicked the downloaded. I am new to the world of simracing and just got a thrustmaster TS-PC-Racer.
